Spirit For Spirit (I Cor. 2)

I am not a match for the devil, his schemes, and the world and theirs, but when I seek after God, the Comforter who is the Holy Spirit moves me in a direction that I otherwise could not go, because only spirit can do battle with spirit.

“These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual” (I Cor. 2:13.)

The Word Is Unmatched

If not for the cross, our every word and deed would be swept away by the enemy and even lead us deeper into hell. The word of God has lasted for thousands of years, not because of organized religion, but simply because the Word of God is unmatched.

Speed Things Up a Bit

In fact, what’s really great about the Word is that you don’t have to spend a whole lifetime to find out the things that are already written, and take it from me I’m a musician.  I taught myself guitar, but I would have much rather acquired more lessons if I had the opportunity, because I spent so many hours just plucking away, but along the way I developed bad habits and frustration mostly. We want to get up to speed, and then we can explore and have fun.

We are fallen men. It’s like we are in a deep pit, and the only way out is up, but there are sacrifices along the way, things get lost, and people fall. One thing you can be sure of is this will continue. It can’t go away by healthy eating, and success. It’s not an easy pill to swallow, but there is no education like the one you get from Jesus.

Wait On The Lord…

but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31.)
